Have you heard of the former police station on Lordship Lane? It became the Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich. Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich opened its doors on September 1, 2014. This two-form entry academy, part of the Harris Federation, serves children aged 4 to 11. Construction was completed three weeks ahead of schedule, transforming the old station into a vibrant learning space. The academy currently has 371 pupils, with a capacity for 420. Interestingly, Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich was one of three primary schools built in London by the Harris Federation, in collaboration with Farrans Construction and GSS Architecture. These projects were funded by the Education Funding Agency. Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich offers a modern learning environment with flexible teaching spaces, providing dedicated areas for nursery and reception years. This allows for a dynamic and creative curriculum. The academy is led by Ms. Sarah Stevens-Cox. She also serves as a local governor, alongside a dedicated team. As of November 2024, about 17.3% of the pupils were eligible for free school meals, representing 64 children. The academy’s commitment to inclusivity and educational excellence shines brightly. It stands as a testament to the transformation of a community landmark.
