This expansion, spanning 4,000 meters, became a necessary addition as the original Zona 1 reached capacity. During the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, TPU Jombang Zona 2 played a crucial role. It provided a final resting place for many who succumbed to the virus. The cemetery saw a significant increase in burials, sometimes handling up to ten per day. TPU Jombang Zona 2 isn’t just a burial ground for locals. It also accepts those from outside Tangerang Selatan who have ties to the community. This inclusivity reflects the interconnectedness of the region. The cost of burial at TPU Jombang Zona 2 varies. Locals pay a fee of Rp 250,000 every three years. Those from outside the area pay Rp 1,000,000. A dedicated team of 26 staff members works tirelessly to maintain the grounds. They operate on a rotating schedule, ensuring the cemetery’s smooth operation from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Two excavators assist with the burial process. TPU Jombang Zona 2 stands as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility. It serves the community with dignity and respect during times of loss.
