Tucked away on Streatfield Road, Kenton Baptist Church isn’t just a building. It’s a vibrant hub of faith and community. Kenton Baptist Church extends a warm welcome to everyone. They want people to feel at home, whether it’s their first visit or they’re a regular attendee. The church strives to be a safe and inclusive space for all to explore faith and experience God’s love. Kenton Baptist Church’s Sunday service starts at 10:30 am. The pastor, Rev. Steve Cochrane, starts the service with a warm greeting and a call to worship. The worship team then leads the congregation in contemporary worship songs. After sharing news and notices, there’s a time of prayer, followed by reflective songs. A sermon, either by Pastor Cochrane or a guest preacher, provides a Bible-based message relevant to daily life. The service concludes with a final song and sometimes an opportunity for individual prayer. Children are also an important part of the Kenton Baptist Church community. A creche caters to babies and toddlers up to three years old. Children from 4 to 16 years old participate in the “New Beginnings” program. They begin the service with their families and then go to Sunday School after the announcements. The Sunday School program incorporates Bible stories, music, crafts, and games. Kenton Baptist Church is committed to accessibility. Wheelchair access and a loop system are available for those with impaired hearing. A disabled toilet is also located in the main foyer. After the service, everyone is invited to enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits, and sometimes even cake. This provides a great opportunity to connect with others and build community. Kenton Baptist Church’s mission extends beyond Sunday services. They offer various activities throughout the week, including a toddlers’ group, a boys’ club, and a senior adults’ club. The church is actively involved in community outreach and works with other churches in the area. They are associated with the London Baptist Association and the Evangelical Alliance. Kenton Baptist Church’s commitment to sharing God’s love is at the heart of all they do.
