Gazing at the entrance of Saka Junior High School you might not guess its rich history. This school has been a cornerstone of Saka since 1947. It started humbly at Saka Elementary School. That year marked the first entrance ceremony.

Saka Junior High School’s official founding day is April 16th. Imagine students filled with hope for the future. The school then moved to a former military facility in Haobi. This served as a temporary campus.

Life at Saka Junior High School wasn’t always easy. Students made the best of their resources. They were determined to learn.

In December 1951 the school relocated to Saka. It was located at 2955番地. A new school building was constructed. It was completed quickly. Students moved in that same month.

The school song was created in March 1954. It is still sung with pride today. This song binds generations of students together.

New buildings were needed as the school grew. Construction began on a new school building in December 1980. A new gymnasium followed in July 1981. By December 1981 the new facilities were ready. Students moved into the modern school.

In 2006 the school anthem was renamed. The school song became the official school song.

Saka Junior High School celebrated its 70th anniversary recently. The anniversary ceremony included speeches and songs. Graduates reflected on their time at the school. They remembered their teachers and friends.

The ceremony featured a presentation about the school’s history. It highlighted traditions like the Yosakoi Soran dance. This energetic dance is performed at the sports festival.

Graduates from Saka Junior High School now number over 12000. The school continues to evolve. Saka Junior High School fosters both academic and athletic excellence.
