“A colossal 250 million euro investment,” a voice whispers, “right here at the Telekom Campus.” The Telekom Campus isn’t just another office complex. It’s a sprawling testament to telecommunication history, nestled in Bonn’s Ramersdorf district. Originally known as the T-Mobile Campus, this massive structure holds the headquarters of Telekom Deutschland. Imagine 123,000 square meters of office space. This makes it the largest office complex in Bonn, a city known for its significant structures. Located near the A 562, the Telekom Campus stands as a landmark visible from the highway. Its story begins in the early 2000s, on land once earmarked for the “Bonn, Parliament and Government District.” The complex evolved in two phases. The southeastern section, the “Erstbau,” was completed by 1995. Later, in 2003, the northwestern section, the “Neubau,” expanded the campus. Interestingly, as of September 2024, the “Erstbau” is no longer part of the Telekom Campus. The “Neubau” is a modern marvel with five interconnected buildings, boasting a gross floor area of 98,000 square meters. Five towers rise above the main structure, creating a striking silhouette. Green courtyards and even ponds offer a tranquil escape within the bustling complex. Glass dominates the design, from the large facade panels to the interior partitions, giving the space an open and airy feel. The building’s climate control utilizes a modern concrete core activation system. Inside, a massive 5,000 square meter canteen can accommodate 1,000 people. A “Forum,” capable of holding 1,500 visitors, hosts both corporate and public events. A large LED wall at the end of the Forum adds a dynamic visual element. From here, the “Net Supervision Center” monitors Telekom’s European mobile network. The Telekom Campus is a fascinating blend of old and new, a symbol of Telekom’s evolution in the digital age.
