Hedorfs Kollegium whispers stories of modern student life. Situated near Flintholm Station in Copenhagen, Hedorfs Kollegium offers a vibrant hub for 52 students. This four-story concrete complex was completed in the summer of 2009. It’s conveniently located near Copenhagen Business School and Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College. The metro provides quick access to the city center. Hedorfs Kollegium boasts a unique design by KHR Arkitekter. The building’s curved façade, finished in white concrete, echoes the simplicity of Jørn Utzon’s Bagsvaerd Church. Geometrically shaped windows at ceiling height flood each room with natural light. These windows also contribute to the façade’s soft, organic curves. KHR Architects used prefabricated concrete sandwich elements for cost-effectiveness and speed. This innovative approach demonstrates the creative potential of concrete. The façade is treated with a silicon spray to protect against graffiti and grime without compromising the natural concrete aesthetic. Each floor houses 13 student rooms, each with its own bathroom and a kitchen niche. Communal areas on each floor encourage social interaction among the residents. Hedorfs Kollegium stands as a testament to modern architecture and student living. It offers a dynamic and convenient lifestyle for students in the heart of Copenhagen.
