The Quran was sent down from Lauhul Mahfuz to Baitul Izzah. This happened all at once on Laylat al-Qadr. Laylat al-Qadr is the Night of Power during Ramadan. From Baitul Izzah, the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. This revelation occurred gradually over 23 years.
Ibn Abbas said the Quran was separated from Adz-Dzikr. Adz-Dzikr refers to Lauh Mahfuz. It was then placed in Baitul Izzah in the sky. Then Jibril brought it down to Prophet Muhammad.
Imam Ath-Thabrani and al-Bazzar narrated from Ibn Abbas. He said the Quran was sent down all at once to Baitul Izzah. This was in the sky of the world. Angel Jibril then brought it down to Prophet Muhammad. This was in response to the words and actions of God’s servants.
Imam Al-Hakim, Al-Baihaqi, and others narrated from Ibn Abbas. The Quran was revealed on Laylat al-Qadr. It was sent all at once to the sky where the stars are. Allah then revealed it to His Messenger. This happened piece by piece.
Baitul Izzah is not a physical structure like this building. It’s more a spiritual station. It represents the divine origin of the Quran. It symbolizes how the holy book came to humanity.
The name Baitul Izzah translates to House of Honor or Glory. It reflects the immense value of the Quran. It signifies the divine wisdom it contains.
Scholars say that belief in Baitul Izzah is part of unseen matters. We accept it based on faith in Allah and His Messenger. The precise nature is beyond human comprehension.
