How many schools have an entire village named after them? St Catherine Catholic Primary School in West Drayton can claim this unusual distinction. Don’t be fooled by the unassuming facade of St Catherine Catholic Primary School. This school boasts a rich history, going all the way back to 1868. Imagine West Drayton before the sprawling suburbs. In those days, Catholic children received their education in a humble cottage on Money Lane. It was a devout man named Father Michael Wren who, fueled by faith, established the first dedicated space for St Catherine Catholic Primary School behind the newly erected church. Over time, St Catherine Catholic Primary School blossomed. It underwent several transformations, including a significant expansion in 1939. A new chapter unfolded in 1986 when the school welcomed a nursery, further solidifying its place in the community. Fast forward to 2018, and St Catherine Catholic Primary School celebrated a momentous 150 years of educating young minds with a visit from Cardinal Vincent Nicholls himself! The school continues to be a beacon of faith and learning in West Drayton.
