“Inspiring, inclusive, innovative, open and honest.” That is more than just a motto. It is the very essence of the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence. Here at the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence or CEME, innovation thrives and businesses grow.

CEME is located in Rainham, East London. It is a not-for-profit education and skills organization. CEME is more than just a location. It is a dynamic contributor to business growth. Businesses based at CEME grow four times faster than the national average.

The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence was developed as part of the Beam Reach area. This area is part of the Thames Gateway regeneration project. This project was a partnership between the London Development Agency and the Ford Motor Company.

Here at CEME Havering College and Barking and Dagenham College run courses. They operate under the name Thames Gateway College. CEME provides green technology retrofitting courses. The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence site also includes conference meeting facilities. It can accommodate up to 300 people. Moreover, the development site houses 45 start-up companies.

CEME’s mission is to inspire inclusive business growth. They want to contribute to economic prosperity. CEME works with organizations like the Thames Estuary Growth Board. This puts them in an optimal position to help their business community. They benefit from regional regeneration. They also benefit from the economic infrastructure delivered by the Thames Freeport. A hydrogen energy ecosystem is developing here. The CEME business campus has been chosen as the preferred site. It will be developed for a 29 million pounds Hydrogen Living Lab.

They provide training and potential funding sources. An exceptional research and development infrastructure helps to expedite new innovations and ideas.

The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence business campus is more than a space. It is a community of like-minded entrepreneurs. It is based in an environment geared towards positive change. CEME creates prosperity. It delivers quality jobs, skills, and opportunities in the communities it serves. This extends across the region and the country.

CEME is a space for more than 100 engineering, technology, and training businesses. This makes you part of a community of potential partnerships. Regular, free learning events are led by local experts. These foster those partnerships.

As a self-sustaining, not-for-profit enterprise, CEME is overseen by independent trustees. Their primary focus is success for their customers, partners, and people. There are significant opportunities for partners within development projects across the region.

Led by the Thames Estuary Growth Board, rapid change and high levels of investment will deliver regeneration. These will enhance connections and develop the economic infrastructure. Regional development also includes the Thames Freeport. It is estimated that 1.3 million jobs will be created by 2050.

Additionally, the Hydrogen Route, running alongside the Thames Estuary, will create an infrastructure. This infrastructure will feed the need for hydrogen. Hydrogen will serve as a clean power alternative to current fossil fuels. CEME brings together a range of organizations.
