The design of the Marmara İlahiyat Camii is a striking blend of contemporary and classical elements. Architect Hilmi Şenalp, also known for his work on the Mimar Sinan Mosque in Ataşehir, envisioned a space that reflected the dynamism of the universe. The mosque’s dome, a swirling masterpiece of white and blue, draws inspiration from the fractal patterns found in nature. It echoes the ancient “kırlangıç” ceiling technique, a thousand-year-old Anatolian tradition. Below the dome, a unique fountain pool mirrors the mosque’s miniature form, creating a captivating visual echo. Inside, the mihrab, minber, and kürsü, crafted from natural stone, create a sense of unity and grandeur. Calligraphy adorns the arches and columns, weaving a tapestry of sacred verses.
