Gereja Regina Caeli is a Catholic parish church located in North Jakarta. It’s under the administration of the Archdiocese of Jakarta. Specifically it’s the parish church of Pantai Indah Kapuk. Regina Caeli means Queen of Heaven one of the titles of Mary. Diocesan priests of the Archdiocese of Jakarta manage it.
The Pantai Indah Kapuk parish branched off from the Stella Maris Church in Pluit. Originally Pantai Indah Kapuk was part of Pluit parish. The land for the church was donated by developer PT Mandara Permai. This generous donation covered 6868 square meters. The building permit application started in 2002. It was granted at the end of 2003. The cornerstone was laid on February 15 2004. Gereja Regina Caeli opened for worship on June 11 2006.
On February 7 2007 Pantai Indah Kapuk became a station of the Pluit Parish. Father Joseph Santoso MSC was the first station priest. In September 2007 Archbishop Julius Cardinal Darmaatmadja SJ appointed Father Felix Supranto SS CC as station priest. On January 20 2008 Cardinal Darmaatmadja officially established Pantai Indah Kapuk and Gereja Regina Caeli as the 60th parish in the Archdiocese of Jakarta.
