“Ever feel like you’re part of something bigger?” a fellow devotee once whispered to me. We stand before Mushala Al Ihsan a testament to faith evolving over time.

Once a small prayer room this sacred space has grown. It now serves the needs of many in Jakarta Barat. Mushala Al Ihsan began humbly. It was a simple space for employees of Telkom Jakarta Barat to pray. This was back in 1975.

Fast forward to March 7 1988. This marked a significant change for the Mushala Al Ihsan. It transitioned from a prayer room to a mosque. It then accommodated Friday prayers. Ust Ghani fondly known as Babeh served as the dedicated caretaker.

By May 28 2000 the community had outgrown the original space. So the first major construction phase began. Mushala Al Ihsan was rebuilt to accommodate more worshippers. This marked a new chapter in its history.

The expansion continued. On November 25 2002 a second floor was added. This provided a dedicated prayer space for women. Kristiono commemorated this addition with a dedication. This ensured that all employees could comfortably practice their faith at Mushala Al Ihsan.

More space was needed. February 25 2014 saw another expansion. This time it was for the men’s prayer area. It nearly doubled the existing space. This allowed Mushala Al Ihsan to welcome thousands of worshippers from Telkom and the surrounding community. Agus Winarmo marked this expansion with his signature.

From 2015 to 2023 Mushala Al Ihsan underwent a complete transformation. Thanks to the hard work of the mosque committee and Telkom Group it became the Masjid Al-Ihsan Telkom. It stands proudly in WITEL Jakarta Barat.

Look around you. Can you see the old photos displayed on the mosque walls? They tell the story of Mushala Al Ihsan’s evolution. You can see the original small prayer room from 1975. See the transition to a mosque in 1988. Photos capture the early construction phases.

Admire the roof’s traditional design. The tiered structure reflects local architectural styles. Notice the garden the former badminton court. See how the community has grown and adapted over the years. The mosque has become a true community hub.

Consider the spirit of collaboration that built this place. Dedicated leaders and community members shaped Mushala Al Ihsan. It provides spiritual guidance and a sense of belonging. It continues to evolve. It adapts to the needs of its growing congregation.

As you leave Mushala Al Ihsan remember its humble beginnings. Remember the dedication of those who built it. Let its story inspire you to contribute to your community. Let it inspire you to nurture spaces of faith and togetherness wherever you go.
