It embodies a unique approach to faith. Founded on March 27, 1946, the Fraternidade Eclética Espiritualista Universal began its journey. It started on Avenida Presidente Vargas in Rio de Janeiro.
Imagine a group of dedicated individuals. They embarked on annual pilgrimages. These trips took place between November and December. They distributed essential supplies. Food, medicine, and clothing were given to those in need. They offered spiritual and clinical assistance. Their commitment to helping others was unwavering.
In 1947, the Fraternidade Eclética launched its community newspaper. It was named O Nosso. Today, it remains the primary means of communication for the fellowship. It connects members and shares important news.
The Fraternidade Eclética has expanded significantly since its inception. Currently, there are 17 operational locations. These extend beyond Rio de Janeiro. They reach other states and even other countries. Each location serves as a center for spiritual practice and community support. These houses include: the Regional of Petrópolis and Cordovil in Rio de Janeiro. Also the Regional of Posse dos Carneiros and Campo Grande in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, the Regional of Formosa in Goiás, and Duque de Caxias in Rio de Janeiro. Anápolis in Goiás also hosts a regional center. Governador Valadares in Minas Gerais has a regional presence. The Filial of Itapaci in Goiás is part of the network. The Matriz afiliada of Merlo in Argentina extends the reach internationally. The Matriz Regional do Estado da Paraíba and Paracatu in Minas Gerais are key regional centers. The Matriz Regional do Estado de Pernambuco and Paraná demonstrate broad coverage. The Matriz Regional do Estado do Rio de Janeiro anchors the organization. Principal branches in Paraguay and Argentina add to its global presence. The Filial Regional de Merlo in San Luiz, Argentina continues the expansion. Finally, the Sede Matriz Principal is located in Cidade Eclética in Goiás.
The Fraternidade Eclética conducts regular public charity work. This takes place in a ritual of Umbanda Eclética. These sessions occur every Sunday at 3 PM and Wednesdays at 8 PM. They happen in all communities. This includes the main headquarters and independent houses. These works are inclusive.
Additionally, spiritual works in the Eclético-Kardecista Ritual are held. These happen every Friday. The sessions start at 8 PM. These services are open to all members of the community. They occur in the main headquarters and dependent houses.
The Igreja Cristã Eclética offers several activities. Solemn Thanksgiving Services take place in the morning at 10 AM. Baptisms of Catechumens are performed. Marriage ceremonies, spiritual blessings, and anniversaries are celebrated. Funeral ceremonies and Holy Week services are also conducted. All religious services offered by the Igreja Cristã Eclética are free.
