Haupt- und Realschule am Luisenhof

Since 1975 the Haupt- und Realschule am Luisenhof has stood proudly in Nordenham. It’s a testament to the town’s commitment to education. The school initially housed both Haupt- and Realschulen under one roof. This unique setup fostered collaboration and a shared sense of community. In 2007 a significant expansion took place. Six new classrooms were added by constructing a second story atop the original building. This shows the school’s adaptation to growing student populations. The Haupt- und Realschule am Luisenhof is more than just classrooms. It boasts a sports hall a swimming pool and a library. These facilities enrich the students’ learning experience. Providing opportunities beyond academics. The school operates as a voluntary Ganztagsschule. This means that after the regular school day ending at 1250 pm. An extensive range of voluntary activities are offered to students. Around 90% of students participate in this program. These extracurricular activities include 17 AGs or interest groups. One unusual offering is a Porsche AG where students restore an old Porsche tractor under expert guidance. Other successful AGs focus on trampolining and cooking. A crucial part of the school’s life is the Blexer Weihnachtsmarkt. Approximately four weeks before Christmas the school building transforms into a bustling Christmas market attracting thousands of visitors. This is a highlight for the community.
