Was it the captivating melody of “Magnifique Est Ton Saint Nom” that drew me to the Church of Christ? Or perhaps the promise of heartwarming fellowship in the heart of Paris? Whatever the reason, here I stand, before the Eglise du Christ Paris Sud captivated by its unassuming charm. Nestled on the quaint rue Moulin-Vert, the Church of Christ might seem inconspicuous at first glance. However, don’t let that fool you. Within its walls lies a vibrant tapestry of faith, resilience, and a uniquely Parisian joie de vivre. The Church of Christ, small but mighty, boasts a congregation of approximately 25 souls. They hail from diverse backgrounds, from the heart of France to the shores of Haiti, united by their shared love for Christ. Imagine my delight, as a weary traveller, being enveloped in their warmth as I stumbled in late for Sunday service. The echoes of their heartfelt “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” in French, lingered long after I bid them adieu to explore the Eiffel Tower. The Church of Christ, a testament to the universal language of faith, reminds us that even in a city renowned for its grandeur, true beauty lies in the embrace of a welcoming community.
