It’s a pretty modern church with a sleek, almost futuristic design. The Auferstehungskirche, which translates to Resurrection Church, is a testament to the architectural creativity of the postwar era. The church’s design, with its curved concrete walls and the distinctive saddle-shaped roof, is a beautiful and bold statement and you can instantly see where the nickname came from. It’s as if a giant, divine arm has been placed around the community, offering a place of solace and worship. At its heart, the church is a symbol of resilience and renewal. The large windows on either side of the church bathe the interior in a warm glow, illuminating the colorful mosaic of the resurrected Christ behind the altar. Don’t look away!
