Fast forward to January 4, 1983. The new building opened. Students finally had a place to call their own. Drs I Wayan Jigera, the headmaster, worked tirelessly. He and his staff improved the grounds. Gardens and footpaths were created. His leadership helped SMA Negeri 4 Denpasar gain recognition.
SMA Negeri 4 Denpasar’s reputation grew. It became known throughout Bali and beyond. Consistent high scores on the Ebtanas exam boosted its appeal. More students were admitted to top universities. The school became a provincial leader.
From 1990 to 1997, Drs Made Sumerta led SMA Negeri 4 Denpasar. He maintained the school’s high standards. In 1997, SMA Negeri 4 Denpasar became a special pilot school in Bali. Student admissions were based on academic potential and NEM scores.
Drs Ketut Mustika took over in 1997. During his brief tenure, SMA Negeri 4 Denpasar was named a top school in Bali. In 1998, Drs I Wayan Rika became headmaster. The school remained a provincial leader. Admission was based solely on the TPA test.
