Have you ever imagined living in a skyscraper with breathtaking views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges? Here at the McKenzie Apartments, that dream becomes a reality. The McKenzie Apartments, a 40-story residential high-rise in the Denny Triangle neighborhood, was completed in 2018. This impressive structure houses 450 apartments, offering a variety of living spaces. This wasn’t always the sleek, elliptical tower you see today. Originally, a different design was proposed, but thanks to feedback from a design review committee and nearby residents, the unique elliptical shape we now admire was born. Construction began in January 2016, with a price tag of $284 million. Part of this funding came from a loan from the Bank of the Ozarks. The McKenzie Apartments isn’t just about luxurious living. It also boasts a touch of culinary excellence. The ground floor houses a Wild Ginger restaurant. This is the third location in the Seattle area for this popular establishment. It opened its doors in August 2018, adding a flavorful dimension to the McKenzie experience. Inside, you’ll find a range of amenities designed for comfort and convenience. There’s a spa on the sixth floor, a gym on the 39th, and the 40th floor features a private dining room, club and lounge areas, and even a dog wash. The building also offers seven floors of underground parking, accommodating up to 350 vehicles. So, the next time you’re in Seattle, take a moment to appreciate the McKenzie Apartments. It’s a testament to modern architecture and a vibrant addition to the city’s skyline.
