In 1976, a unique school emerged in Copenhagen. Kasperskolen began its journey under a different name. It was known as “Parkskolens Centerafdeling for Kontakthæmmede Børn”. From the outset, Kasperskolen operated as a Helhedsskole. This meant providing a full day of schooling, from 8 am to 4 pm. This comprehensive approach aimed to cater to the specific needs of children with social and communication challenges. Kasperskolen’s focus has always been on normally intelligent students facing these hurdles. Over the years, Kasperskolen has evolved. In 1991, a school leisure program was established. It was initially called Kileremmen and later renamed Firkløveren. This program offered additional support and activities outside of regular school hours. However, by 2000, the school transitioned back to its original model as a helhedstilbud, integrating all services into a single, comprehensive program. Kasperskolen continued to grow and adapt. In 2003, it merged with Copenhagen County’s ADHD department. The school relocated to Præstemosecentret, sharing facilities with the Dyslexia Institute. Another significant change occurred in 2014 when Kasperskolen merged with Lautrupgårdskolen. Finally, in 2019, Kasperskolen found its current home in new premises in Skovlunde. This move marked a new chapter in the school’s history, providing a modern and purpose-built environment for its students. Kasperskolen caters to students from 0th to 10th grade. It specializes in supporting children with autism and ADHD. The school’s history shows its commitment to providing specialized education and support. Kasperskolen has consistently adapted its programs and facilities. This ensures the best possible learning environment for students with unique needs.
