“Since 1995,” a local historian once remarked “Ituzaingó has stood as its own entity.” Ituzaingó is the capital of the Ituzaingó Partido. It resides in the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area.

Before 1995 Ituzaingó was part of the Morón Partido. Provincial Law No. 11,610 enacted on December 28, 1994, marked a turning point. It allowed for the creation of Ituzaingó Partido. Eduardo Duhalde was the governor of Buenos Aires Province at the time.

Alberto Daniel Descalzo became Ituzaingó’s first mayor. He assumed office on December 11, 1995. The ceremony took place in the hall of School No. 1. The City Council was also formed. Horacio Ramiro González served as the first City Council president.

Ituzaingó sits 28 km from Buenos Aires City. It features French-style chalets. Quiet streets and leafy trees enhance its neighborhoods. The city covers 38.51 square kilometers.

Fernando Caldeiro was an Argentine-American NASA astronaut. Moria Casán is an actress and TV personality. Raúl Perrone is a filmmaker and cartoonist. Manuel Lanzini is another footballer from Ituzaingó.
