In the broader Dallas area, other churches share similar values. The church in Dallas began meeting in June 1971. A small group of Christians started it. They followed the teachings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. They believed Christians should meet in the city where they live. This idea came from their reading of the Word.
Seven believers from Houston moved to Dallas. They helped those in Dallas start the church. By October, the group had grown to thirty-seven people. Many had returned home to Dallas from Houston. They wanted to care for the Lord’s burden.
In January 1972, the church bought land on Gus Thomason Road. They met there for many years. The church grew through gospel preaching. The ministry of the Word and shepherding care also contributed. Members moved to other cities. They helped establish churches in Arlington, Denton, and Fort Worth. They also assisted in Plano, Richardson, Irving, Duncanville, and McKinney. Small meetings started in other cities too.
In 1999, the church acquired land near IH 635 and Coit Road. This made it easier for everyone to attend. The church continued to grow. It increased in fellowship and numbers.
Born Again in Christ Jesus Church embraces the teachings of the Bible. It believes the Bible is the complete divine revelation. It is inspired word-by-word by God through the Holy Spirit. They believe in the triune God. God is the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. The church believes that Jesus Christ died for our sins. His blood provides redemption. They also believe in Christ’s resurrection. He rose from the dead on the third day.
