Masjid Al-Ikwan

Within the vibrant heart of Jakarta, nestled in the Komplek Perumahan Walikota Sukapura, stands Masjid Al-Ikwan. It’s more than just a mosque. It’s a testament to the community’s dedication to faith and education. Masjid Al-Ikwan’s story begins in 1995. Concerned about the younger generation’s disconnect from the Quran, the mosque pengurus and the community of RW 06 established a Taman Pendidikan Al Qur’an (TPA). This initiative aimed to bridge the gap and ensure that the teachings of the Quran remained accessible to all. Masjid Al-Ikwan, a beacon of hope, sought to nurture young minds and instill a love for their religious heritage. Over time, the community’s needs evolved. The TPA expanded its scope, transforming into a Raudhatul Athfal, a kindergarten with a distinct Islamic educational focus. This transition reflects the community’s commitment to providing a holistic Islamic education from an early age. Masjid Al-Ikwan, therefore, became more than a place of worship. It evolved into a center for learning and growth, nurturing future generations within a faith-based environment. This evolution culminated in an official decree. On September 1, 2016, the TPA officially became the Raudhatul Athfal Al-Ikhwan under the Yayasan Al-Ikhwan, solidified by decree number 32/SK/YAI-JU/VIII/2016. Masjid Al-Ikwan stands as a symbol of community, faith, and progress. It reminds us that even amidst a bustling city, spaces of devotion and education can flourish. It serves as a testament to the enduring power of community initiatives and the desire to pass on religious and cultural values to the next generation.
