Before us stands Regina Dominican High School, a bastion of education for young women in Wilmette, Illinois. It’s a testament to the dedication of the Adrian Dominican Sisters who founded it in 1958 at Cardinal Samuel Stritch’s request. The school bears the name in honor of the Virgin Mary and St. Dominic, the founder of the Order of Preachers. The school’s motto, Caritas & Veritas, meaning “Charity and Truth,” sets the standard for the rigorous education it provides.
Regina Dominican is a powerhouse for learning, offering a challenging STEAM and liberal arts program, including courses in theology. The school is proud of its academic achievements, with students accepted to over 146 colleges and universities across the country. The class of 2024 received over $19.8 million in scholarships.
Regina Dominican’s commitment extends beyond the classroom. Its expansive athletic program is one of the largest all-girls programs in the state, giving students an opportunity to excel and build camaraderie. Regina’s student-athletes participate in the Independent School League (ISL) and IHSA Conference. This dedication to excellence resulted in the 2023-2024 Varsity Basketball team competing in the IHSA Final Four, earning fourth place. Their first appearance down state in over 20 years is a testament to their skill and dedication.
Regina Dominican High School is a vital part of the Wilmette community, where young women are challenged, nurtured, and prepared for life’s journey. Here, young women become confident leaders, prepared to make a difference in the world.
