The Balnarring Uniting Church stands proudly on Balnarring Beach Road. This humble structure, a beacon of faith in the heart of this coastal town, boasts a history deeply entwined with the community’s growth. Built in 1936, it replaced the use of the Balnarring Mechanics Hall for services that was favoured between 1915 and 1920. Back then, finding a permanent spot for worship was a journey that took many turns. The church first purchased land in 1924, embracing this piece of Balnarring Beach Road as their foundation. However, in 1929, services were held at St Mark’s Church of England, only to relocate once again to the Warrawee Homestead by 1934. Then, finally, the Balnarring Uniting Church found its home. Its first service was conducted by Rev W. Judkins, and the congregation rejoiced in a place to gather and connect. Interestingly, from its inception until 1973, the church fell under the Mornington Circuit, part of a network of churches serving a wider area. Today, the Balnarring Uniting Church stays true to its roots, providing spiritual guidance and a comforting space for the local community. It is a testament to the unwavering spirit of faith, adapting to the tides of time and remaining a steadfast presence in the heart of Balnarring.
