The house system at De La Salle College fosters camaraderie. Students are divided into four houses. Each house is named after a De La Salle Brother. These are Benildus, Solomon, Miguel, and Mutien. The houses compete in events like inter-house athletics.

De La Salle College has produced many notable sportsmen. John Kirwan and Francis Leota are among them. More recently, Isaia Toeava and other accomplished athletes attended De La Salle. The college offers various sports. These include rugby, football, basketball, volleyball, and more.

The Education Review Office ERO last visited De La Salle College on June 29, 2016. During this review, the school had 996 students enrolled, all boys. The ethnic composition was diverse. Samoan students made up 66%. Tongan students comprised 16%. Māori students accounted for 8%.
