The Post Office opened in 1900. There are two main shopping districts in Kilsyth, Churinga and Kilsyth. Smaller stores are located on Colchester Road, Collins Place, and Hawthory Road. The first school opened in 1910. It is now named Kilsyth Primary School. Kilsyth is home to a range of sporting clubs. The Kilsyth Cobras are a well-known Basketball Team. The Kilsyth Cougars are the town’s Australian Rules Football Team. There is also the Kilsyth Redbacks Cricket Club and the Kilsyth Sports Centre. Kilsyth has also been home to a great basketball player, Andrew Gaze. He lead the Cobras to success in the 1980s. The Kilsyth Centenary Pool is on Hawthory Road. It is a place where the community spends a lot of time together in the summer sun.
