The UPCI formed in 1945. It was a merger of the Pentecostal Church Incorporated and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ. Since then, it has been among the fastest-growing church organizations. In 1945, it had 521 churches in the United States and Canada. By 2014, it had grown to 4459 churches and 9413 ministers. In the same year, it reported works in 201 nations outside the U.S. and Canada. These included 34491 churches and preaching points. There were also 21485 licensed ministers and 886 missionaries. Its constituency was 2.4 million. The total constituency is estimated at 3 million.

The Bible is the fundamental doctrine of the Endtime United Pentecostal Church. It is the only God-given authority that man possesses. All doctrine, faith, hope, and instruction for the church must be based upon it. Salvation comes with repentance. It includes baptism in water by immersion for the remission of sins. Speaking in other tongues through the Spirit is also a sign.
