The Archer Academy

This isn’t just any school. The Archer Academy is a free school, operating under its own single-academy trust. Opened on September 3, 2013, it caters to students aged 11 to 16. The Academy boasts a “mixed” gender entry policy and prides itself on being non-selective. Ofsted’s January 2025 inspection confirmed The Archer Academy’s outstanding status. The Archer Academy isn’t confined to a single building. Years 7-9 occupy the Lower School on Eagans Close, while Years 10 and 11 learn at the Upper School on Beaumont Close. This two-site approach allows students to develop at their own pace in environments suited to their age. In 2024, The Archer Academy celebrated impressive GCSE results. 69% of students achieved Grade 5+ in English and Maths. 43% of all grades were 7+. An impressive 73.3% of all grades were 5+. The Academy values its community. It fosters a strong sense of belonging, not just for current students, but also for its alumni. The “Once an Archer, always an Archer” motto reflects this ongoing connection. Currently, over 1,000 alumni stay connected through social media and events. The Academy even encourages alumni to contribute their expertise, supporting younger students as they navigate their own educational journey.
