Rebuilt after the war, it became a popular dance hall in the 1950s. A major restoration in 1975 stripped away later additions, returning the Heilig-Geist-Spital to its original Romanesque glory. Even the late Gothic tracery windows were removed, revealing the building’s ancient bones.
