“Imagine finding a place to live in the heart of a bustling city, a refuge from the everyday chaos.” Allée Théophile Binet, nestled here in Le Raincy, has been just that for many. This seemingly unassuming alleyway housed a unique piece of Parisian life within its borders: a homeless shelter. Right here, at 5 Allée Théophile Binet, stood an old postal building, vacant since 2014. In a remarkable transformation, this space was brought back to life in December 2023 as “L’Avant Poste.” More than just a shelter, L’Avant Poste became a dynamic hub, buzzing with the energy of coworking spaces, a lively bar, and even delicious food offerings of charcuterie, cheese, and fresh vegetables. But “L’Avant Poste” wanted to be more than a place of temporary respite. It evolved into a cultural center, hosting thought-provoking conferences, captivating exhibitions, creative workshops, and soulful concerts. Allée Théophile Binet, once a haven for those seeking shelter, transformed into a beacon of community and culture in the heart of Le Raincy.
