Is this heaven? No, it’s Prestonwood Baptist Church! Standing here, in front of this enormous structure, it’s hard to believe that Prestonwood Baptist Church started as a humble mission. Back in 1977, it was just a dream of the Dallas Baptist Association, who saw a need for a strong church presence in North Dallas. They started small, holding services in a community center under the leadership of Pastor Bill Weber. Prestonwood Baptist Church quickly grew, finding its first permanent home in 1979 at Arapaho and Hillcrest Roads. Fast forward to 1989, a pivotal year for the church. Dr. Jack Graham took the reins as pastor, and Prestonwood Baptist Church was well on its way to becoming the megachurch it is today. But with great size comes the need for even greater space! They found it on 140 acres of land in Plano, and in 1999, this magnificent building hosted its first service. Even with this massive expansion, Prestonwood Baptist Church wasn’t done growing. They opened a second location, their North Campus, in Prosper in 2008, showing their dedication to serving the community and sharing their faith. Today, Prestonwood Baptist Church boasts a membership exceeding 49,000 across its multiple campuses. Their story is a testament to the power of faith, community, and a commitment to outreach.
