Empowered to Realise My Dreams. That’s the motto of Crest Secondary School. See it? Right there on the building. This isn’t just any school. Crest Secondary School is special. It’s Singapore’s first specialized school for Normal (Technical) students.

Opened in 2015 it’s a place where students who learn best by doing find their niche. They get a unique education. It combines academic learning with vocational training. They graduate with not one but two certificates. The GCE N Level Certificate and the ITE Skills Subject Certificate.

The school’s name Crest perfectly captures its essence. It represents the peak of personal transformation. Each student is empowered to reach their full potential. This is especially important for students in the Normal (Technical) stream. They might have faced challenges in primary school. Crest provides support and a fresh start.

It started with four ITE Skills Certificate courses. Hospitality services retail services facility services and mechanical servicing. But times change. A curriculum review in 2018 led to updates. The ITE Skills Subject Certificate (ISSC) replaced the ISC in 2021. Now there are five options. Culinary and Restaurant Operations. Retail and E-commerce. The Internet of Things. Mechanical Design and Automation. And Mobile Web Applications.

Beyond academics Crest offers a Student Development Programme. A Visual Arts Talent Development Programme strengthens social and emotional skills. Cultural Immersion Programmes and School Twinning Programmes enrich the learning experience. The school even has a vibrant range of co-curricular activities. From athletics and badminton to the Entrepreneur Club and the New Media Club. There’s something for everyone.

The journey of Crest Secondary School is inspiring. It started as a vision. Now it’s a beacon of hope. A place where students overcome obstacles and discover their strengths. It shows that every student has the potential to succeed. To reach their personal crest. To realize their dreams.
