These aren’t ordinary figures. The Patung Ondel-ondel are crafted to resemble traditional ondel-ondel puppets. These puppets typically stand 2.5 meters high. They are made of bamboo with wooden faces. Their wild hair is crafted from ijuk palm fibers. The male figure is traditionally painted red. The female figure is painted white. They symbolize duality. They represent the balance of good and evil.
