In Lemont Illinois Chicago First Church of the Nazarene undertook a complete overhaul. This renovation included lighting audio and video solutions. JRLX provided a comprehensive sanctuary renovation in late 2014. The project presented challenges. Existing glue-lam beam construction and a rotunda-esque design complicated things.
JRLX installed a motorized truss trapezoid. It supported thousands of pounds. It had minimal impact on the roof and ceiling. The lighting package included many automated lights. Martin Professional Mac Vipers and Robe LEDWash 300 luminaires were used. These lights were controlled by a High End Systems Road Hog 4.
The new house-lighting system is energy-efficient. It uses Altman Chalice fixtures. These offer increased light output. They also decrease HVAC heat-loading. The environmental projection system features High End System DLV Digital Automated Lights. These can collage and edge-blend video projections.
The DSP audio system includes a Yamaha CL5 console. Lab Gruppen amplifiers and Electrovoice speakers provide sound. A 6G SDI broadcast video system was installed. It is 4K enabled. Panasonic DLP projectors display video content.
The Lighthouse Church of All Nations is known as Chicago’s Bridging the Gap Church. Pastor Dan Willis founded the church at sixteen. It started in Oak Lawn with 15 members. It has grown to over 5000 members today. In 2014 they built a brand new Sanctuary building.
Today The Lighthouse Church is home to 72 different nationalities. It offers programs for all ages. There is a state-of-the-art children’s ministry. They host a youth choir and weekly arts workshop. They provide prayer and outreach ministries. They also run a marriage ministry and senior citizens groups. A weekly community food pantry is available. The All Nations Leadership Institute is housed on campus.
The Lighthouse Church envisions being a non-denominational church for all nations. It celebrates ethnic diversity. The goal is a life-changing experience with Jesus Christ.
