“Moreno 800, General Villegas.” Does that ring a bell? Today, we explore Colegio María Inmaculada, a cornerstone of education in Buenos Aires. Founded in 1905, the Instituto María Inmaculada began with a group of religious women. They belonged to the Congregation Daughters of the Divine Savior. These women were successors of Sor María Antonia de Paz y Figueroa. She had founded the Holy House of Exercises in Buenos Aires.
Initially, the Colegio María Inmaculada was located in a rented property. Mrs. Josefa de Oleaga owned the property. It stood at the corner of Moreno and Pueyrredón. Later, the school moved to Belgrano and Castelli streets.
A significant moment arrived on December 8, 1910. The new facilities at the corner of Moreno and Pringles were blessed. The primary level was the first to be established here. The Instituto María Inmaculada continued to grow. In 1975, they incorporated higher education. They introduced the Primary Education Teaching Professorship.
