This church, here in South Dallas, has been a beacon of hope since 1921. Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church has served the community as a place of worship and fellowship. The church welcomes everyone, embracing the motto, “Perfect Place for Imperfect People.” Services are held every Sunday at 11 AM. The church’s journey wasn’t always easy. A 1967 photo shows the brick church, built in 1947, standing proudly. This building replaced earlier locations, including one destroyed by a bomb in 1935. Only a Bible and a hymnal survived the blast. The resilient congregation persevered. They held services in various locations before finally settling here. The Morning Star Baptist Church continues to shine brightly. It’s a testament to the power of faith and community in South Dallas.
