Journey back to 1922. Families began settling in the neighborhoods surrounding what would one day become the Iglesia Cristiana Interdenominacional El Palacio de Jesucristo El Gran Rey. Among these families were followers of the Evangelical faith. They began to find each other, sharing their beliefs and holding small services in their homes. This burgeoning faith community grew steadily. In 1927, they celebrated a milestone: the inauguration of their first temple. This marked the official beginning of the Iglesia Cristiana Interdenominacional El Palacio de Jesucristo El Gran Rey. The name, meaning “Interdenominational Christian Church,” reflected their unique approach. They sought unity and fellowship without strict adherence to any single established denomination. The church faced early challenges, including religious persecution under the Mexican government. In late 1931, elders Heliodoro Flores and Pedro Galván registered Josué Mejía Hernández as the church’s first pastor. Pastor Mejía’s leadership was pivotal. He provided the foundational doctrines that still guide the Iglesia Cristiana Interdenominacional El Palacio de Jesucristo El Gran Rey today. He mentored over 120 pastors and helped establish numerous churches and missions during his time. Sadly, he passed away in 1950. Pastor Felipe Sánchez Muñoz took the helm in 1951. He led the church through an era of exponential growth. His tenure, lasting until 1998, saw thousands of souls saved and over 1200 congregations established across Mexico and the United States. Pastor Aarón Cortés Hernández succeeded Pastor Muñoz. He was called to lead the Iglesia Cristiana Interdenominacional El Palacio de Jesucristo El Gran Rey by prophecy during the General Meeting of Pastors in July 1999. The church continues its mission, eagerly anticipating the second coming of Jesus Christ. They work tirelessly to spread the Gospel and live out the Great Commandment, sharing their faith with the world.
