A new building a symbol of change. That’s what The Branch Church in Farmers Branch represents. The 1980s saw Farmers Branch transform from a rural area into a bustling suburb. The Branch Church needed to change too. It transitioned from a small rural church to a more welcoming and inclusive community. Prayer guided this transition a time of spiritual growth. In 1986 the church of about 300 people began fundraising and prayer for a new building. They sought God’s wisdom to share the message of Jesus with the growing community. In 1988 Eddy and Verlen Ketchersid arrived. They had a successful 30-year ministry in Houston. Their focus on grace and acceptance profoundly impacted The Branch. The new building at 3035 Valley View Lane opened that year. This new location reflected the church’s evolving vision. The church adopted a new motto. “We accept you where you are and challenge you to grow in Christ”. This motto reflected their desire to welcome everyone and offer a space to connect with Jesus. This inclusive spirit led to new children’s and youth ministries. The Branch Church’s story is one of adaptation. It’s a story of embracing change while remaining rooted in faith. The building on Valley View Lane stands as a testament to this journey. It stands as a beacon of hope and acceptance. It serves as a place where people feel welcome to grow in their faith. The Branch Church continues to evolve. It remains a vital part of the Farmers Branch community. It’s a testament to the power of faith in the face of change. This church is a place of growth.
