Three sprawling campuses. That’s the UMET in Quito. The Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador. A private university. It’s more than just classrooms. It’s a vibrant hub of academic life.

Established in 2000 by decree of the former National Congress. The UMET quickly gained prominence. It boasts a strong reputation for academic excellence. Its Quito campus however is a relatively recent addition.

The main campus sits on Avenida La Coruña. Here students from the Faculties of Economic and Business Sciences and Engineering can be found. The Information Technology program is also housed here. So is a branch of the Center for Technological Development and Innovation. UMET’s impressive Health Sciences programs reside on the same campus.

Another significant campus is located on Avenida 6 de Diciembre. This is home to the Faculty of Social Sciences Humanities and Education. The University’s Academic Unit for Technical and Technological Training also calls this campus home.

A third campus. A more historic one. Located on Calle Pedro Valdivia. This houses the esteemed Faculty of Law.

But UMET is far from static. It’s an active institution. Constantly evolving. The university boasts a high-performing status. It received accreditation from the Council for Quality Assurance of Higher Education in 2019. This accreditation runs until 2025.

Beyond the impressive academic programs. The UMET plays a crucial role in the social fabric of Quito. It fosters collaboration. It encourages innovation. It empowers its students to become leaders. Leaders of tomorrow. Leaders of Ecuador. Leaders of the world.
