In 2005, Kelsey Park achieved Sports College status. It was renamed Kelsey Park Sports College. Then came growing pressure from local parents. They wanted a co-educational school. A public consultation in February 2011 shaped the school’s future. Kelsey Park Sports College became a co-educational academy. The Harris Federation sponsored it. The Kelsey Park name was scrapped. September 2011 marked this significant change. The first co-educational year began in September 2012.
Today, Harris Academy Beckenham is run by the Harris Federation. It has earned an “Outstanding” rating in its 2023 Ofsted report. The academy serves students aged 11 to 18. The Principal, Ciara Warnock, leads an experienced team. They are passionate about teaching.
