Established near the roar of Fukuoka Airport, 市立席田中学校 has a unique story to tell. This isn’t just any school. It’s a place where the spirit of “health, desire, and independence” thrives. 市立席田中学校 opened its doors in 1973. The location was specifically chosen. It offered proximity to Higashihirao Park and fell between Aktion Fukuoka and the bustling airport. This created a vibrant backdrop for the students’ education. Imagine attending classes while planes soared overhead. The noise of the airport influenced the school’s design. This led to special considerations to minimize the disruption. 市立席田中学校 currently educates around 580 students. Each grade has about six classes, plus two special support classes. The school has witnessed significant milestones. In 1980, the gymnasium was completed. Two years later, the martial arts hall followed suit. In 2012, a school garden was created. This provided hands-on learning experiences for the students. This garden isn’t just for show. It’s actively used by the gardening club. The school champions four core values. These values are “love”, “sweep”, “effort”, and “unity”. They form the foundation of the Mushiroda Standards. They guide the students toward a well-rounded education. 市立席田中学校 also boasts diverse extracurricular activities. From baseball and soccer to kendo and brass band, there is something for everyone. There’s even a broadcasting club. This club manages announcements, sports event broadcasting, and lunchtime music. The student council plays a vital role in school life. Seventeen members, including a president, two vice presidents, and committee members, work together to improve the school. They manage various committees. These cover areas like evaluation, learning, student life, environment, health, public relations, and hygiene. The school calendar is filled with events throughout the year. It starts with an entrance ceremony and a nature classroom for first-year students in April. May brings the sports festival. June is dedicated to peace studies. September welcomes the student council’s inaugural address and human rights studies. October sees the chorus contest. November hosts the student council general meeting. The year winds down with a study trip for second-year students in December, a farewell ceremony for third-year students in January, a coming-of-age ceremony for second-year students in February, and finally, the graduation ceremony in March. 市立席田中学校 isn’t just a school. It’s a vibrant community. It nurtures growth, fosters creativity, and promotes the well-being of each student.
