Tangletown’s story begins in 1886. A vision of a wealthy residential area was laid out. Two hundred acres of farmland near Minnehaha Creek were purchased. However economic hardship struck. The ambitious plans stalled. Development slowed. Most homes were built between 1910 and 1930.
Despite the delayed start Tangletown flourished. It became a prestigious neighborhood. Many beautiful homes were built. Some are remarkably well-preserved examples of 1920s architecture. You can spot them easily on your stroll today.
