Have you noticed how the air changes as we arrive at Mirador Brazo Tristeza? This isn’t just another viewpoint. It’s a place where stories whisper on the wind.
Mirador Brazo Tristeza offers some impressive views of Lago Nahuel Huapi. It shows its beauty in every direction. Mountains surround the lake. They create a dreamy landscape. The best times to visit are spring and summer. That is when plants flourish. The weather is also favorable.
The trail to Mirador Brazo Tristeza goes along the northeast side of Cerro López. As we climb we see panoramic views. Various local plants and animals can be spotted along the way. The path is clearly marked. Signs show us the right direction. After about an hour of walking, we reach the natural viewpoint. Here we can fully appreciate the Brazo Tristeza. We also see the Bahía López.
This spot is perfect for a pause. Take photos. Enjoy the calm of the setting. It’s a short but amazing walk. The trek to Mirador Brazo Tristeza is about 1.7 kilometers. It usually takes about 60 minutes. The elevation gain is 95 meters. The difficulty is low in summer. It is medium in winter.
To hike this trail, you need to register for trekking in Llao Llao Municipal Park. Remember fires are not allowed in the National Park. Always tell someone you plan to be on the trail. That way they can inform someone if you don’t return.
The trail starts in Bahía López near the Alun Nehuen hotel. To get to the start of the trail, take Avenida Bustillo to Bahía López. There is parking. From there, cross a small bridge. This marks the start of the trail. You can also take bus number 10.
Before you set off check the weather. Be sure to register for trekking. You can do this on the Nahuel Huapi National Park website. Please bring back all the trash you create. There is no trash collection in the park.
Looking out from Mirador Brazo Tristeza, it’s easy to feel a sense of peace. The views from here stay with you long after you leave.
