Hounslow Muslim Centre: ever wondered about the story behind its walls? This is no ordinary building. It is a place of community. It is a place of faith. Hounslow Muslim Centre opened in Ramadan 2019. It quickly became a beacon masjid in the heart of Hounslow. The local Muslim community grew fast. Soon, the Masjid could not hold everyone. Prayer halls overflowed during daily prayers. They even had to arrange three Jummah Salaah on Fridays.
Imagine the scene during Ramadan. People gather filling every corner. The need for more space became clear.
Now picture this. An opportunity arose to buy the building behind the prayer hall. This purchase would increase the Masjid’s size by one third. It would add space for 200 more worshippers. The Hounslow Muslim Centre decided to act. They needed to expand.
The plan includes refurbishing all three buildings. They want to create one large prayer hall for over 650 people. They also want to build a mezzanine floor. This will provide space for prayers and a teaching center for sisters and youth. The existing warehouse is in poor condition. It has temperature control issues and asbestos. It also needs roofing and structural repairs. A new men’s wudhu facility will be built. It will have sheltered access to shoe racks and the prayer hall.
The Hounslow Muslim Centre’s story is one of community growth. It shows the importance of faith. The expansion project shows their commitment. They want to serve the growing Muslim community. They want to provide a welcoming space for all.
The Hounslow Muslim Centre is a project of the Haaya Foundation. The foundation has been providing youth activities in West London for over 18 years. Since 2017, they have been working to purchase a new Masjid and community center. The old Jehovah Witness Church was an ideal location. It had excellent community facilities and transport links.
The new building is in the center of Hounslow. This area is being redeveloped with new shops and restaurants. The Masjid aims to serve the community. It wants to empower young Muslims. It wants to help them achieve their full potential in their spiritual educational and vocational lives. There will be services for women and welfare services. Meeting rooms will be available for use by the local Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
The Hounslow Muslim Centre is inspired by the Prophetic example of a beacon Masjid. They promote Islam as a peaceful and tolerant way of life. They welcome all members of the wider Hounslow community. They aim to be at the heart of educating future generations. They also want to foster good civic relations. The Hounslow Muslim Centre wants to build a more harmonious society.
Donations are crucial to the Hounslow Muslim Centre’s mission. Each donation helps grow the community. Donations go directly to the mosque’s account. The service is free to use. Donors can give once weekly or monthly. The Hounslow Muslim Centre has come a long way in a short time. It is a testament to the community’s dedication and vision.
