Once a hub for gypsum extraction, the Butte d’Orgemont has undergone a remarkable transformation. Today, the hilltop is a haven for walkers and nature enthusiasts, boasting 700 trees, 3,000 shrubs, and 3,000 perennial plants, including 368 cherry blossom trees. The panoramic views from the summit of Paris, the Gennevilliers port, the Eiffel Tower, and even the towers of La Défense are truly awe-inspiring – you can feel the city’s pulse at your fingertips. From this vantage point, you can glimpse the iconic Orgemont windmill, the only remaining survivor of a dozen windmills built in Argenteuil. In the 18th century, the miller’s wife opened a restaurant at the windmill, attracting visitors eager to enjoy the picturesque vista.
