Casa Linda Park wasn’t always a park. Before its creation this land was part of a larger area that was farmed. Carl Brown a visionary developer purchased it in the 1930s. He transformed the land into Casa Linda Estates a neighborhood known for its spacious lots and winding streets. The park itself sits near Old Gate Lane San Saba Drive and the old Santa Fe Railway tracks.
Interestingly the park’s history is intertwined with that of Casa Linda Estates. The park’s creation enhanced the neighborhood’s appeal. Its development is part of a larger story of suburban expansion in post-World War II Dallas. Imagine families picnicking children playing and neighbors chatting under the shade of mature trees.
