He gained expertise in general orthopaedics, specializing in endoprosthetics, at various hospitals, including St. Vincenz Hospital in Constance and the Cantonal Hospital in Münsterlingen, Switzerland. He also trained in sports traumatology and arthroscopic joint surgery at the Clinic for Sports Injuries of Sport Aid NRW-Hellersen. Dr. Römer’s career path led him to Cologne, where he collaborated with renowned sports physicians. He worked with Dr. Peter Schäferhoff, team doctor for FC Cologne and the Cologne Sharks, at the Klinik am Ring. He also served as a senior physician at the PAN Clinic with R. Strümper. Dr. Römer eventually returned to his roots in Bonn. Today, he practices at his office on Karl-Finkelnburg-Straße, focusing on conservative orthopaedics and sports medicine. He continues to be deeply involved in the sports community, serving as a supervising physician for the country performance center for volleyball at the Olympic training center in Bonn. He even holds the position of supervising doctor for the GOP Variety Theatre in Bonn. Dr. Römer’s commitment to continuous learning is evident in his diverse training. He pursued chiropractic training in Graz, Freiburg, and Berlin. He studied acupuncture at various clinics and even at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine in Beijing. He’s also a member of several prestigious medical societies, including the Interdisciplinary Society for Orthopaedic Pain Therapy and the Professional Association for Traumatology and Orthopaedics. His expertise is widely recognized, and he serves as a recommended sports physician for the UN authorities in Bonn and as a partner doctor for many Bonn sports clubs. Dr. Römer’s story is one of dedication, versatility, and a deep connection to Bonn.
