Ready to discover the story of Hafs Academy? The Hafs Academy, an independent school for boys, stands here in Stratford. It has a unique story.

Hafs Academy opened its doors on September 25, 2012. The school’s address is Unit 3, 26 Maryland Road, London, E15 1JW. Mr. Kazi Hussain is the principal. You can reach the school at 02085554260 or visit their website.

Hafs Academy caters to boys aged 7 to 16. The school has a capacity for 330 pupils. However, only 65 pupils attend. It is smaller than many schools.

Hafs Academy has a Muslim religious ethos but no specific religious character. This means it provides education within a Muslim framework. The school does not promote a particular religious doctrine.

Interestingly, Hafs Academy was once involved in a concerning incident. A former administrator at the school, Umar Haque, was convicted of terrorism offenses. He tried to radicalize children. He was showing them beheading videos. Haque wanted to create an army of child jihadis.

Ofsted rated Hafs Academy as inadequate in 2016. Essential staff checks were incomplete prior to their employment. An inspection after concerns about Haque found the school met required standards.

The Charity Commission investigated the Islamic Academy. It is also known as the Ripple Road Mosque. That is where Haque worked, too. The inquiry examined how Haque radicalized children. It looked at the supervision of the school.

The school has taken steps to ensure such an event never happens again. Safeguarding is now a top priority.

Today, Hafs Academy focuses on providing a safe learning environment. It strives to offer a quality education for its students.

So, while Hafs Academy has faced challenges, it is committed to its students. It works hard to provide a positive future for them. It has learned from the past. The school continues to serve its community.
