The Cattle Drive Sculpture in Pioneer Plaza isn’t just a collection of bronze figures; it’s a tribute to the cowboys, the vaqueros, and the Texas Longhorns that shaped the history of Dallas and the American West. Imagine the dust swirling around the hooves of these magnificent creatures, 49 of them, each standing taller than a man at six feet high. This bronze herd, the largest of its kind in the world, eternally marches towards the Shawnee Trail, a path that once thundered with the hooves of millions of cattle. They are guided by three skilled riders, representations of the men who risked their lives on these cattle drives.
