Hohes K\u00e4nzele is easily accessible. The hike is considered easy. The paths leading up here consist of mostly natural trails. You will traverse 4.6 kilometers of paths to reach this scenic spot. Additionally, about 0.6 kilometers are on paved roads.

The highest point of the hike to Hohes K\u00e4nzele is 640 meters. The lowest point is 461 meters. The total climb is 274 meters. The descent is slightly more at 293 meters. The hike takes about one hour and 45 minutes.

To reach the starting point, you can use public transport. Landbus number 67 and Stadtbus lines 3, 6, and 7 will get you close. The \u00d6BB-Bahnhof Feldkirch is also nearby. If you prefer driving, there are parking spaces in the city center. You can also park near Schattenburg.

The route to Hohes K\u00e4nzele passes several interesting landmarks. You will walk along Burggasse. This takes you past Schattenburg. Schattenburg was once the residence of the Counts of Montfort. Continue on G\u00f6fiser Stra\u00dfe until the first turn on the left. Here, the Haldenweg begins.

This path slopes gently down to the “Elend Bild” chapel. This small church was once a popular pilgrimage site. It is known for its depiction of Mary. From here, take the path that goes uphill. At G\u00f6fiser Stra\u00dfe, a forest path to Schloss Amberg branches off to the left. Soon you’ll reach a fork in the road.

Climb up the steps to the right. Cross G\u00f6fiser Stra\u00dfe here. Follow the path to Hohes and Niederes K\u00e4nzele. These are both excellent viewpoints. If you continue, you can visit G\u00f6fis-Stein. There is a restaurant there. You can also see the ice-age glacier pot. Finally, the route leads back to Feldkirch through the Felsenauschlucht gorge.
